MEMBERSHIP TYPES

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS:
Ward 7 and Ward 8 Residents; Membership Fee: $30


Membership Requirements -
• Open to all residents who live within the geographical boundaries of Ward 7 or Ward 8 (East of the River) in the District of Columbia.


Benefit(s) Per Bylaws -
a) Resident Members may elect Officers of the Board of Directors as well as a regional Representative from their respective Ward every two (2) years.
b) Adopt amendments to the Bylaws.


Benefit(s) Per Organization -
1) Participate in the planning and general activities for r.e.e.l.’s annual meeting.
2) Serve on committees/ councils/ taskforces that impact community issues/ concerns.
3) Receive r.e.e.l.’s monthly newsletters that includes information regarding r.e.e.l. seminars and workshops as well as community related meetings and volunteer opportunities.
4) Receive 25% - 50% discounts to r.e.e.l.’s special events.
5) Eligible for board/ Leadership.


Future Benefit(s) -
1) Discounts at area businesses
2) Travel discounts at hotels and rental car companies—for when you leave River East
Associate Non-Resident; Membership Fee: $25


Membership Requirements -
• Open to any person who, although not residents of Ward 7 or Ward 8, have an affiliation with the organization or wish to become associated with the organization.


Benefit(s) per Bylaws -
a) Non-Resident Members may only vote for their designated Representatives on the Board of Directors.


Benefit(s) per Organization -
1) Participate in the planning and general activities for r.e.e.l.’s annual meeting.
2) Serve on committees/ councils/ taskforces that impact community issues/concerns
3) Receive r.e.e.l.’s monthly newsletters that includes information regarding r.e.e.l. seminars and workshops as well as community related meetings and volunteer opportunities.
4) Receive 10% - 20% discounts to r.e.e.l.’s special events.
5) Eligible to hold the position of At-Large Representative on the Board of Directors.

BUSINESS MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS:
(Note: Please be advised that the following is a new proposal for a business membership program. The benefits for this program will likely, but slightly change based on the development of an organizational Business Sponsorship Plan.)
Business Council; Membership Fee: $100


Membership Requirements -
• Open to nonprofit or private business owners whose business exist within the geographical boundaries of Ward 7 and Ward 8 (East of the River) in the District of Columbia, and wish to become an entry level sponsor of the organization’s programs.
• Business’ Annual Income must be (less than $100k)/Non-profits


Benefit(s) per B.O.D. -
1) Serve as an entry level sponsor for r.e.e.l.’s annual meeting.
2) Meet quarterly to develop and maintain strategic plans for building on-going relationships with Ward 7 and Ward 8 businesses.
3) List member’s business name prominently on r.e.e.l.’s website, monthly newsletter, membership materials, and event brochures.
4) Receive reduced rates and/or discounts for special event ads.
5) Exclusive invitations to special events and high profile functions.


Future Benefit(s) -
1) Discounts at area businesses
2) Travel discounts at hotels and rental car companies—for when you leave River East


Tools Needed -
• Must develop a sponsorship proposal plan.
• Must commit to annual high profile events that pique interest.
Business Council; Membership Fee: $250 (coming soon)


Membership Requirements -
• Open to nonprofit and private business owners whose business exist within the geographical boundaries of Ward 7 and Ward 8 (East of the River) in the District of Columbia, and wish to become a- mid-level sponsor of the organization’s programs.
• Business’ Annual Income must be ($101-250k)


Benefit(s) per B.O.D. -
1) Serve as a mid-level sponsor for r.e.e.l.’s annual meeting.
2) Meet quarterly to develop and maintain strategic plans for building on-going relationships with Ward 7 and Ward 8 businesses.
3) List member’s business name prominently on r.e.e.l.’s website, monthly newsletter, membership materials, and event brochures.
4) Receive reduced rates and/or discounts for special event ads.
5) Exclusive invitations to special events and high profile functions.
